- Discover an exciting and incomparable diversity that nature offers us. Different landscapes at different times of the year and the day, deserted and mystical.Here he is palpable, the magic of nature. Extensive forests, extensive lakes, moors and heathlands. A nature that provides magical moments for visitors, especially in peace and seclusion.In every season, nature unfolds its magic and shows itself in ever new variations. There is a lot to see. I captured some of it with my camera.
THE MAGIC OF THE LANDSCAPE
I am always fascinated by nature in the change of seasons. But also the movement of the clouds, the grasses or the leaves in the wind are always an amazing sight. The silhouettes of trees, hills and other details also reflect the beauty of the landscape.
BIOTOPE
There are many landscapes on my doorstep. I explore many different biotopes as a hobby photographer over and over again. Biotopes are naturally occurring landscape features such as streams, mountain forest, coniferous forest, mixed forest. Further common examples of biotopes are river meadows, deserts, mudflats or orchards.
Riparian forest
The approximately 143 hectare forest area "Die Burg" is located in the southeast of the city of Marl. In 1991 the popular local recreation area was designated as a nature reserve. The name goes back to a medieval earth castle, the walls of which are now completely overgrown by the forest.
Westruper Heathland
Heathland landscapes like the Westruper Heide were once widespread in areas with sandy soils. The traditional heath economy perished through industrialization, only a few remaining areas remained. Today sheep prevent encroachment, mechanical mowing and tearing as well as controlled burning rejuvenate old heather stands.

Coastline
Chalk cliffs, cliffs, mud flats, sandy beaches and dunes - coasts are incredibly varied habitats. Therefore, particularly interesting nature observations are possible at the border between sea and land.

Nature has found an oasis here in the middle of the Ruhr area on this former military training area.
