Little Foxes

LITTLE FOXES

The red fox living with us occurs in Europe, Asia and North America. He has relatively short legs, a narrow snout and erect triangular ears, which he can turn in almost all directions and thus localize sounds very well. His sense of smell is 400 times better than that of humans. His eyes are adapted to twilight and night so that he can still see when a person can no longer see anything of his immediate surroundings in the dark. Its very slender and light body, however, appears larger and heavier than it is due to its thick fur and long, bushy tail. It belongs to the family of canine predators and thanks to its excellent adaptability it has followed humans into the big cities. The sensory organs of the mostly crepuscular and nocturnal fox are specially adapted to the darkness.

Foxes on the mound of earth

With the five puppies, the vixen chose a training ground for a German shepherd association. She has been raising her young here for years. For two days I sat on a bench in the rain at 30-40 meters, in the rain ... Nothing happened.
On the third day, with some sun and clouds, I lay down on a beach towel about 20 meters on the lawn.
And I was lucky!

Close-ups of the young foxes

From the many photos that were taken that afternoon, I created a few enlarged sections of the photographs. Particularly beautiful or funny moments that I was able to experience on this special day. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I did.

Fox family at the edge of the wood

After a few hours, the fox family had come to trust me and came a few meters out of the forest. even the mother fox came out to the meadow to suckle her young and to play with them. what a wonderful day that I was allowed to witness.
